Next EACL Conference

The 11th  International Conference of the European Association of Chinese Linguistics (EACL-11) will be held in Olomouc, Czech Republic, on September  25-27, 2020.

We now invite proposals (in English) for special panels in all areas of Chinese linguistics (excluding applied linguistics and teaching of Chinese).

Deadline for panel proposals: December 31, 2019

Call for abstracts: a separate call for abstracts will be published in the second half of January (tentative deadline: March 15), just after the panel selection process is completed. Abstracts may be submitted either for a panel or for the general session and are subject to the same review procedure.

The EACL Spring Schools in Chinese Linguistics

The aim of the EACL Spring Schools in Chinese Linguistics is to provide a opportunity for MA and PhD-students affiliated to European universities to be exposed to areas in Chinese linguistics to which they are not exposed in their home institution; and to make them aware of the expertise in Chinese linguistics present in Europe. So far we have held nine Spring schools: in Leiden (2006), München (2007), Amsterdam (2008), Moscow (2009), Bochum (2010), Paris (2011), Berlin (2012), Prague (2013) and Rome (2014). The 10th EACL Summer School in Chinese Linguistics will take place in Amiens (6th-9th June, 2016).

The Chinese Linguistics in Europe Series

In the Chinese Linguistics in Europe Series we publish volumes which contain a refereed selection of papers that were presented at the bi-annual conferences of our Association. So far, we have published two volumes: Chinese linguistics in Budapest (2006) and Chinese Linguistics in Leipzig (2008). The books can be ordered through a form which can be found at the bottom of this website. EACL members can buy the books with a discount.
