11th EACL Summer School in Chinese Linguistics

The 11th edition (2019) of the EACL Summer School in Chinese Linguistics was organized by “L’Orientale” University of Naples.

The aim of the prestigious EACL Spring/Summer Schools in Chinese Linguistics is to provide an opportunity for MA and PhD-students affiliated to European universities to be exposed to areas in Chinese linguistics to which they are not exposed in their home institution; and to make them aware of the expertise in Chinese linguistics present in Europe. The courses are held by eminent experts of Chinese Linguistics in Europe. The EACL Spring School in Chinese Linguistics is organized for M.A. and Ph.D. students in Chinese linguistics affiliated to European universities.

 

Courses offered:

  • Waltraud Paul: Facts and fallacies in the syntax of Mandarin Chinese
  • Giorgio Arcodia: Sinitic Morphology
  • Christoph Anderl: Dunhuang texts and the study of Vernacular Chinese
  • Luisa Paternicò: Sources and Methodology for Chinese history of linguistics and historical linguistics (Mandarin and Cantonese)

In addition, two lectures on general linguistics were given by two local general linguists.
